SELECTV BROADCASTING LIMITED is a Public Company headed by CEO Jim Blomfield (previously CEO of FOXTEL). SELECTV has launched a new subscription TV broadcasting service that is delivered by satellite to nearly all Australian households. It will focus on providing premium content in comparatively low priced packages to a number of specialised market segments.

SELECTV has obtained the rights to broadcast the following programs as part of their English Pay TV package. 

These 20 channels are available all over Australia for a monthly fee of $29.95 per month. Typically most areas of Australia will be able to use an 85cm Dish as the PAS8 Satellite has excellent Australia wide footprint. One of the most attractive features of this PAY TV package that there are no contracts at all and YOU supply the equipment. This concept has been working exceptionally well in many overseas countries for many years. Australia's 2 Satellite PAY TV companies (there are 2 but they don't compete with each other) insist on a time based contract and the only way out of the contract is to basically buy your way out. And with either of these 2 PAY TV companies of course you never own any of the equipment (decoder etc).

With SelecTV, if you don't like the programming, cancel the account and send back the card.  No penalties. All it costs you is the initial card fee of $29.95.

Its a simple matter of completing the online application, arrange a direct debit or credit card payment and apply for the smartcard only. To do that open the  Hardware Wizard select "PAS 8" as the satellite and "STB from a third party"  SelecTV will forward the card to you, make sure its in the decoder and call them to get the card activated.  The card will be activated in only a few minutes after following the voice prompts. Easy as that! Not like trying to get some other services activated!
